peripheral nerves

This would include the nerves in the body outside of the brain and spinal cord.  Included would be nerves in the arms, legs, and the groups of nerves which leave the spinal cord and give rise to these nerves.  Examples would include the following nerves: median, ulnar, sciatic, femoral, as well as the brachial plexus (travels to nerves in the upper extremities) and the lumboscaral plexus (travels to nerves in the lower extremities, and supplies bowel and bladder control).
