is the spread of cancer cells up and down along the axis of the spinal
canal. There may be deficits of the cranial nerves, or any of
the other nerves within the spinal canal. "Drop mets"
which are pieces of tumor which drop down to the lumbar and sacral
portions of the spine do occur. MRI of the spine with gadolinium
contrast is sensitive for picking up lesions. |
