of the "connective tissue" of the brain. These include
astrocytomas, ependymomas, and oligodendrogliomas. Although
complete surgical removal would be ideal, it can only infrequently
be accomplished, because of the infiltrative nature of many of these
tumors. These tumors can range in malignancy from relatively
benign to extremely agressive. Often chemotherapy and radiation
therapy are use in addition to open surgery. |
