extinction
When there is a lesion in one of the parietal lobes, patients may have a subtle neglect of the opposite side.  For example, if there is a lesion in the right parietal lobe, and the patient is asked to close the eyes, and both hands are touched, he may not feel the left hand being touched.  This is known as "extinguishing to double simultaneous stimulation" and is quite sensitive at picking up subtle structural lesions in the parietal lobes.
