The water may be present in the cells (cytotoxic edema) as seen in
head injury, may be outside of the cells, from leaking blood vessels
(vasogenic edema) as seen with brain tumors, or may be inside and
outside the cells (ischemic edema) as seen with intracerebral hemorrhage. |
