An abnormal growth within the brain.  These may be either benign or malignant.  The malignant tumors may start in the brain, or may have spread from another part of the body.  Common benign tumors within the brain are meningiomas, acoustic neuromas, and pituitary adenomas.  The most common malignant tumor which starts in the brain is an astrocytoma (which can be broken down into four grades of aggressiveness).  Tumors may also metastasize from other parts of the body, such as lung, breast, colon, skin, etc.
